Disney's Wreck-It Ralph

Tuesday, December 18, 2012

Walt Disney Animation Studios and Emmy®-winning director Rich Moore (TV’s “The Simpsons,” “Futurama”) take moviegoers on a hilarious, arcade-game-hopping journey in “Wreck-It Ralph.” Ralph (voice of John C. Reilly, “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby,” “Step Brothers”) is tired of being overshadowed by Fix-It Felix (voice of Jack McBrayer, “30 Rock”), the “good guy” star of their game who always gets to save the day. But after decades doing the same thing and seeing all the glory go to Felix, Ralph decides he’s tired of playing the role of a bad guy.  He takes matters into his own massive hands and sets off on a game-hopping journey across the arcade through every generation of video games to prove he’s got what it takes to be a hero.
On his quest, he meets the tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Jane Lynch, TV’s “Glee”) from the first-person action game Hero’s Duty. But it’s the feisty misfit Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Sarah Silverman, “The Sarah Silverman Program”) from the candy-coated cart racing game, Sugar Rush, whose world is threatened when Ralph accidentally unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens the entire arcade.  Will Ralph realize his dream and save the day before it’s too late? “Wreck-It Ralph” crashes onto the big screen on December 20, 2012, in Disney Digital 3D™ in select theatres

I was invited to catch the preview screening last night with the courtesy of Nuffnang.
Wreck-It Ralph is a family comedy film; perfect for children or adults that have an inner child like me. Quite amazing to see how arcade/game character came to life and you can't helped wondering if this actually happen in real life.  Was reminiscing all the past memories whenever I recognise any of the characters from the film, missing the good old stress-free days and the time I spent in the arcade.  The scene was extremely colourful in Sugar Rush, most of the characters were candies; candy corn, lollipop, chocolate ponds, etc.

My favourite character is Vanellope von Schweetz, an energetic child filled with life and a wicked sense of humour, in addition, she look super duper adorable and sweet looking.  After years of rejection and bullying from her town citizens, she was still very determine to be a racer and try her very best to make that happen as a winner in hope of erasing "The Gitch" from the citizens' mind.  When it did happen, she resume her actual status as the Princess of Sugar Rush but she did not take advantage of the situation.  I urge every to catch this film this holiday which will be release this coming Thursday.  It's a really good film, quite different compared to the other Disney film.

Here's the trailer for the movie, Wreck-It Ralph!
Go and take part in the Candy Cane Catapult game available at Disney Studios Singapore Facebook Page.  You simply need to get Ralph to grab hold of the medal before Vanellope does to win, I won the first round but lost the second match.  If you are better than me, you can accumulate the points you had to decorate the christmas tree, you will also have a chance to win movie hampers from Wreck-It Ralph!  The official links to find out more about Wreck-It Ralph, in cinema 20th December 2012.
