Look who got a new category on her blog?
Pretty excited about this post as it's the first time I am covering a topic on makeup. During the Sephora private sale, a Black or Gold card member is entitled to a 20% storewide discount whether it's shopping online or in stores. I am sure many of us took advantage of it because popular items went out of stock on the first day. A great tip I've learnt is that some products are cheaper online than in stores. For example, the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick is retailing at $31 in stores and $29 on site. There is always a risk when purchasing online, though. My NYX blush came damaged, but I managed to get it refunded.

It seems like my recent Sephora purchase has sparked my addiction to makeup. In the month of May, I shop at Sephora on four separate occasions. I didn't spend a lot since most the items are pretty affordable but I went crazy on lip products. I admit I have an obsession with them since last January. I should probably limit myself to buying one or two per month. #Alexdrawergoals.

I thought I would share with you the items I've got.

Contouring and Blush Palette in Light by Sleek MakeUp

This palette is designed to be sleek and travel-friendly.  It comes with a huge mirror, which makes it perfect for touching up on makeup whenever I'm on the go. The pigment is great, but I notice the product has a lot of fallout.

Mirco Brow Pencil in Black/Noir & Retractable Eye Line in Bronze by NYX

The Micro Brow Pencil has been my favourite eyebrow product due to its precise tip that helps to create neat and defined brows.
The Retractable Eye Line is a new product I picked out because I wanted a liner in a natural shade that won't look harsh on my eyes as compared to black.

Photo-Loving Primer & Pore Filler by NYX

If you've watched YouTube videos covering these products, you would have known that many beauty YouTubers raved about them. They are labelled as the dupes for Makeup Forever's Primer and Benefit's Porefessional, but I feel that the texture for the Benefit one is much smoother than NYX.

Urban Decay - Vice Lipstick (Weirdo-Cream)

Falling under the Cream range of the UB's Vice, Weirdo is a light rosy nude and MLBB (My Lips But Better) shade for my skin tone. Bullet lipsticks can be tricky to use if you don't have a smooth base to work with, but this glides on smoothly on my lips.

Zoeva - Soft Definer Vegan (227V) & Luxe Petit Crease (231)

Perfecting an eye makeup look requires the correct tools–good quality brushes. Zoeva brushes are known for its amazing quality and affordable prices. Each brush is soft to the touch and picks up pigment really well with zero to minimal shredding.

Sephora - Nail Polish (Pinky Party)

Each polish comes with a brush applicator that applies the polish smoothly onto the nails without bubbles or streaks. The brush is small in size, making application easy even if it's on the tiniest nails like mine.

Out of all these products, I highly recommend trying out the NYX's Mirco Brow Pencil and UB's Vice Lipstick.
Let me know your favourites.
